メモ -情熱
いったい、”情熱的”とはどういうことなのであろうか。情熱(Pasion=Passion)とは、第一義的
には”受難、苦難”を意味し、これが複数になり大文字になれば、キリストの受難を意味する。
受難、苦難から発して激情、激怒、熱情とまで来れば、それらはすべて受身な、暗い感情で
あることがおのずと明らかになるのではなかろうか。”明るく情熱的”ということは、ことば自体
として矛盾しているであろう。哲学者スピノザならば言うであろう・・・・。
「受け身の感情(情熱)は、われわれがそれについて明晰な観念を形成するや否や、たちまち
受け身であることを解消する。受け身な感情は、混乱せる観念である。」と。
情熱的な人間とは、これはあまり名誉ある呼ばれ方ではないであろう。受け身な、暗い感情
の持ち主とは、誇り高いスペイン人達にとって耐え難い呼称であろう。
